8◆ Breasts of Dreams: The 59th Venice Biennale opened
The 59th Venice Komiks Biennale officially opened on April 23, and the Golden Lion Award Ceremony was also held on the same day. The biennale is head curator with Cecilia Alemane as the theme of “Dream Breasts”.
The theme exhibition of this biennial included 213 artists from 58 countries, and 80 Babaylan National Pavilions. Of the 213 artists participating in the exhibition, only 21 were male (slightly less than 10%, including living and late artists). This Biennale also adds an open-air exhibition of Ukrainian art.
The theme of the exhibition of the China Pavilion is “Yuanjing”, and Zhang Zikang, director of the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, serves as the curator.
