My grandfather Zheng Qiao, originally from Mukeng Palace in Miancheng, Chaoyang, was a wise man and famous teacher in the Chaoshan music industry. Good at temple painting and exquisite academic figures. What I learned throughout my life is profound and profound, and I especially value Confucianism and joy in educating people. He is committed to the inheritance of traditional culture and traditional music and is the founder of the dissemination and development of Chaoyang Ditao Music in Haojiang. My grandfather lost his father at a young age and was able to sell fried dough sticks at Chaoyang Tower at the age of eight. However, he is eager to study and lingers in the academies and bookshelf all day long. I got the mercy of the old man in the private school and allowed him to study for free. Komiks is also smart, and he always stops in temples and music halls, and is fascinated by calligraphy, painting and music art. At the age of twelve, he studied under Mr. Chen Wulu, a famous chauvinist of the “Yangchun Garden” Leshe in Chaoyang. He was highly valued and accepted as a disciple of the family, teaching Chaoyang flute sets ancient music and string poetry music. After obtaining his true teachings, he is especially good at drums and flutes. During the Anti-Japanese War, Chaoyang’s “Yangchun Garden” Leshe stopped all drills, and his grandfather moved to Dahao. Dahao was always the capital of Chaoyang County recruitment. Guangxu (Chaoyang County Chronicles) recorded: “There are many people in the area, including reciting strings and poetry and books.” After settling down, he met local celebrities such as Wu Xuehong, Zheng Jieru, Zheng Fuxuan, Lin Zhonghong, Li Yongzhi, and fellow music clubs such as Zheng Senyao and Yao Biaoqing. Then he resolutely set up a hall next door, and regarded his home as the Babaylan Pavilion, and carved a wooden drum pavilion, and wrote a comment on it by himself: “Yangchun Garden Music Hall”, and wrote a couplet with the head of “Yangchun” as the music hall: “Yangsan Kaitai reunites luck, the first branch of plum blossoms in spring.” To pray for the prosperity of the country, the “Yangchun Garden Music Hall” connects the past and the future, promotes excellent traditional culture, and inherits and develops Chaoyang flute music. Once the venue is established, the rules must be determined, the teacher must be strict, and benevolent and etiquette must be learned. Whenever the students start and stop every day, students must bow their hands in front of the pavilion when entering the classroom and must not be disrespectful. At that time, he continued to accept disciples, unpacked the bags and added musical instruments, and taught free skills such as flute sets, gongs and drums, flute sets, Su gongs and drums, palace music, temple music, string poetry music, Chaozhou gongs and drums and other skills. Flute music is divided into “Flute music” and “CinemaFlute music”. The ancient music of Flute Tao originated from the court music of the Tang and Song dynasties. It was the accumulation of ancient music flowing into Chaoyang and evolved with local music. Or sit around three or five, clap your palms and play the string poem set with the traditional music score “Kong Chi Note”, or play the flute in pairs, practice the big gongs, drums, small gongs and drums in the afternoon, and even the string ensemble in the evening, without interruption. At six o’clock in the morning, the disciples living in the music hall must get up on time. After washing, you either eat soy milk, fried dough sticks, or drink the homemade five-nut noodle soup of my grandfather, and then stand in pairs in the door yard, practicing playing the flute in turn, which is called the “‘Yao’ string full flute”! Before practicing flute, you must not be empty-handed, and the alchemy energy is insufficient and the air is not smooth. My grandfather sat upright on the side of the big eight immortal table in the middle of the hall, slapped with a drum board, half-closed his eyes, and carefully observed whether the luck and exhalation were smooth and correct when listening to the flute. Following the traditional fingering method, rigorously and standardize the playing techniques with the starting sentence “picking, patting, covering, and wiping” as the rhyme, and the sentences are clear and complete. The performance exercises of each piece of music must be sung with the traditional music score “Kongzi Score” until it is familiar and smooth before it can be practiced in solo and ensemble.

Later, Wu Shunyi and his eight-year-old younger brother Wu Shunxi learned his skills. His grandfather first tried to see his character with various plucking instruments and gongs and percussion instruments. After careful examination of the interview, I realized that his nature is smart, has a superb musical feeling, and is quick to do it. This is a material that can be made of Chaomu Drums. Therefore, he strictly defined the framework: learning drum art requires the flute enlightenment of the musical instruments and flutes, and then proficient in other plucking instruments. He heard the loud, exciting, melodious, but simple and quiet sound of flutes from afar and close to each other. It was so pleasant to hear! However, I was very surprised that there was such a big sound in the solo of the flute? After careful analysis, it was not like playing the double flute. In a while, he was puzzled, and walked slowly to the entrance of the music hall, and stopped in shock: Wu Shunyi and Wu Shunxi were standing in front of the hall, playing the flute music “Happy Lantern Tower” in conjunction with the flute. Even though he clapped his hands and sighed: The sound of nature is a wonderful combination! Although my grandfather was always so powerful that he was not angry, he was occasionally angry! I remember that it was one night when I was fifteen years old, and my senior brothers still arrived at the music hall one after another. The first ones came were my honest and honest, thirty years older than me, and my “head-hand-string” was pulled and like Babaylan, and the junior brother Wu Shunxi, who I called “Leibi”. As usual, my brother debugged the flute. Uncle Master prepared his second string, Wu Shunxi took out the coconut beard, and at the same time I also adjusted the yangqin. A string poem “Crown Playing in the Water” began the ensemble. My grandfather was still sitting on the side of his big eight immortal table, playing the suma board while controlling the slow rhythm with his belt. My grandfather often said, “It is especially difficult to be fast but not easy to be slow, but the difficulty lies in ‘fast but not chaotic, slow but constant’!” 2After passing the second board, my grandfather’s drums turned and continued to the second board. And I was so shocked that I held the pair of piano chopsticks in my hand tightly and kept wiping my tears. But my uncle was already very awake at this time. He was standing beside his grandfather, lowering his voice and cautiously, “Sir, don’t be angry, don’t be angry,” and constantly persuading him. Finally, fortunately, my mother, who heard the sound, rushed out, and my grandfather gradually calmed down. Since then, we no longer dare to slack off or be inattentive in our studies! Of course, for those apprentices who are good at taking action or are diligent and studious, their grandfather also commended them very much. They will be given priority to the specialty cakes, snacks and other items given by friends. They will be given priority to share the gifts, and they will be given honors to accompany their grandfather to go out to visit friends. Some will be regarded as the most treasure by their grandfather!

However, my grandfather is the twelfth disciple of Mr. Huang Xingtai, a master of Chaoshan astrology and geomantics. He is well aware of the academic numbers of star fate, the Qimen, the quasi-chan and the selection of auspicious metaphysics. As early as the age of eighteen, my grandfather had studied traditional flute music, and had already dabbled in many ways. During this period, he was appreciated by Mr. Chen Bingji, a folk painter in Guiyu, and was taught fine brushwork lacquer paintings and temple paintings. After finishing the class, he was particularly famous for his “door god’s inverted painting” (that is, the door god’s strokes start from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head). At the same time, due to his painting skills, Mr. Huang Xingtai, a master of Chaoshan Astrology and Constellation, was highly valued by Mr. Huang Xingtai, and was admitted as a disciple of the family, teaching meritocratic academic mathematics and astronomy and calendar. After several years of becoming a teacher, the students had already studied the lessons that their grandfather had worked hard throughout his life, and they always felt happy to learn the essence! Therefore, every day, there are endless people visiting and discussing skills, taking children to learn calligraphy and painting art, or asking questions and answering doubts. In the front hall and backyard of Yangchun Garden Music Hall, all disciples follow the teaching rules, learn skills, and be harmonious with static and dynamics. The disciples in the Music Hall are nearly 60 years old. My grandfather precepts: No high or low learning, no long or short learning, there are orders of knowledge, and specialized skills in skills. A wise man should not “use his or her talents to judge his or her generation” or “use his or her skills to deceive him or her.” When learning art, you must first establish quality, know etiquette and righteousness, and be humble. Be kind to others is the foundation of being a human being. Integration and harmony are the way to deal with the world. With the support and assistance of their grandfather, they discovered and sorted out folk information. During this period, the music score was compiled by grandfather and rehearsed by his disciples. He participated in the “Shantou Island Summer Concert” in 1984, and also participated in the new flute Su gong and drum “Autumn Night in Fishing Island”, which was highly praised by the industry.
